| On October 22, 1975 WFL President Chris Hemmeter, in a press
conference from New York, announced that the World Football League was closing
it's doors. Due to poor attendance, and the failure to obtain a national
television contract were reasons given by Hemmerter. The league voted 6-4 to
fold, with the Hornets being one of the four teams who voted to continue. The
Charlotte Hornets finished the 1975 WFL season with a record of 6-5. |
